Split Second

Split Second A stunningly unique take on time travel. From the NY Times bestselling author whose books have been downloaded over a million times. One of the top 100 books in the Kindle store for almost three months!

What if you found a way to send something back in time? But not weeks, days, or even minutes back. What if you could only send something back a fraction of a second? Would this be of any use? You wouldn’t have nearly enough time to right a wrong, change an event, or win a lottery.

Nathan Wexler is a brilliant physicist who thinks he’s found a way to send matter a split second back into the past. But before he can even confirm his findings, he and his wife-to-be, Jenna Morrison, find themselves in a battle for their very lives. Because while time travel to an instant earlier seems useless, Jenna comes to learn that no capability in history has ever been more profound or far-reaching.

Now, as Jenna fights to defeat the powerful forces arrayed against her, nothing less than the fate of humanity hangs in the balance. . .

SPLIT SECOND is a roller-coaster ride of a thriller, one that will have readers pondering the nature of time, and of reality, long after they’ve read the last page.

This author is nothing less than a magician! He turned this die hard Jane Austen fan into a Douglas E. Richards groupie overnight. No one who knows me would ever believe I would go outside my genre, but when several people I really respect started raving about Split Second, I figured I’d give it a chance. I am so glad I did. No matter what your genre, this novel has it all… action, cliff-hanging suspense, smart characters, and incredibly brilliant writing from beginning to end. Richards turned the idea of time travel on its ear and I can’t stop thinking about all the implications this book explores. To me that’s the mark of a great author, someone who can weave a story that challenges you and makes you think long after you’ve finished the book. Kudos to Richards for giving this lover of English Literature a new outlook on a whole new world of storytelling. I can’t wait to dig into his other books!

Just finished this book last night and it was absolutely brilliant!! The basic premise of the book is time travel, but handled in entirely different way then I’ve ever seen before. The concepts that Mr. Richards explores are in my opinion new step in how time travel can be perceived.
I would recommend this book to any sci fi fan who likes to be challenged with new ideas and concepts. I know that it has gotten me to think about spacetime in a new way.

I have read and liked earlier novels of D.Richards but Split Second tops them all being a clever mixture of scientific aspects of time travel, its possible grave consequences and adventurous plot.
As we all I have always been fascinated with time travel but before Split Second I never thought about its side effects – how the universe might “block” time travel or limit it to “split second” to avoid possible grave outcome for humans, about the danger of replicating objects or humans travelling back and forth in time, and other wonders of science Mr.Richards wrote about.
Reading that book I kept returning to pages describing scientific aspects of time travel and even jotted down names of a few books on the subject Mr.Richards recommended.
I won’t describe the plot of the book because it would spoil the pleasure of reading it for other people, but, when I read Split Second I felt like the door into the future has been opened for me just a little and I am very grateful to D.Richards for that experience!
