Great job! China and the USA…20 years after their war…both sides waiting for the other to restart. Leaders “assuming” peaceful intentions but distrust on both sides. An old fleet Admiral Jack Mattis assigned to accompany a Senator, visiting joint base Friendship Station, rotating Chinese and American control, his old ship Midway visiting. Attack by ??? Admiral Mattis takes over, quickly transfers to Midway We have traitorous politicians, “friends” that cannot be trusted, former enemies still hating, others joining to defend Earth. Lots of twists, complete surprises, great characterizations. I knew people like some of the characters, Fast-moving space warfare.

All the ingredients necessary to begin an exciting new series. Heroes, young and old, shady politicians and politics, enemies who must find a way to cooperate and fight humanity’s common enemy, and of course a mysterious new enemy whose motives are unknown. A good read in itself and a great beginning for a new series.

I got into this book, and literally did not put it down for a couple days. Peter created a decent premise to what will have to be a larger work. One of the elements that I did like immensely was the hurry up and wait pacing with the star ship battles. I was also endeared to the fighter pilots right from their introduction, and actually looked forward to each chapter with them. In my opinion, some of the story was formulaic, however it is a formula I love to read and this did not disappoint. Without giving things away, the expectations were built on, and by the end mine were right on for what was revealed. Regardless, here’s to waiting for the next one in the series.

Extracted was convoluted, tedious and thoroughly engaging. This might seem contradictory, but, given the subject matter, there was no way that it could not have these seemingly contradictory aspects. Given this, the character development and integrity of writing were flawless. I am surprised that it got produced. I must have been a hard sell. I am not surprised that I didn’t ever hear about it, because it is a challenging watch and beyond the attention span of contemporary audiences. You must give yourself to this movie and invest in order to realize its value. It deals with the potentials and pitfalls of our technology while keeping coherently wrapped up in its very human story. I found it to be brilliant and congratulate all involved in bringing this to screen.

This is the story of a scientist who is developing a technology that allows him to enter another persons memories. He hopes to use it to provide therapy to people who have suffered trauma. He needs investors to complete his invention, though, and his business manager has pitched it to someone he doesn’t approve of. Expediency wins out and the scientist demonstrates his device, but something goes wrong.

The technology is believable and the story moves along well enough. It’s not a top line movie, but is still enjoyable.

I think this one was a sleeper that got by most people. Very interesting sci fi drama that explains the tech just enough that it doesn’t get boring. Not only does it have the science fiction aspect but also trying to prove a man innocent of a crime. It also shows how memory can be manipulated and shaped so the truth is difficult to figure out.
